A large and impressive Swedish alabaster plafonnier dating to circa 1950, suspended from the original braided silk cords with tassel detail. The warm, translucent quality of the alabaster creates a beautifully diffused, honeyed light — a characteristic that made this material so prized for Scandinavian lighting of the period.
Sourced in Sweden, this is a piece of genuine provenance and presence. The generous scale and elegant simplicity of form make it equally at home in a period interior or a considered contemporary setting.
